Great surgical care takes a team.
During National Surgical Technologists Week, September 20–26, 2026, Innovia Surgery Center is proud to recognize the professionals whose preparation, precision, and teamwork help keep the operating room moving each day.
This year, we are especially excited to celebrate two members of our own team: Nathalie and Hsiao.
Their work may often happen behind the scenes, but the role they play in supporting our physicians, patients, and fellow team members is anything but small.
Surgical technologists are an integral part of the surgical team. Their responsibilities can include preparing the operating room and sterile field, organizing surgical instruments and supplies, supporting the surgical team during procedures, and helping maintain sterile technique throughout a case.
It is a role built around preparation and attention to detail.
In an operating room, many things have to come together at the right time. Instruments need to be ready. The room needs to be prepared. Team members need to communicate clearly. Surgical technologists help support that coordination from before a procedure begins through the case itself.
Technology, equipment, and operating rooms are important, but people are what bring a surgical environment together.
A strong OR team depends on individuals who know their roles, communicate well, anticipate what may be needed next, and support one another throughout the surgical day.
That team dynamic matters to us at Innovia.
As a physician-owned ambulatory surgery center, we want our environment to feel focused, responsive, and collaborative for the surgeons who operate here and the patients who trust us with their care.
The people working inside our operating rooms are a major part of creating that experience.
For us, National Surgical Technologists Week is also a chance to say something simple that can sometimes get lost during a busy surgical week:
Thank you.
Nathalie and Hsiao bring skill, dedication, teamwork, and positive energy to Innovia every day.
We appreciate the preparation that happens before each case, the attention given to the details, the support provided throughout the day, and the willingness to step in wherever the team needs them.
Those contributions make a difference not only in the operating room, but also in the experience of the people around them.
We are grateful to have both of you as part of the Innovia team.
National Surgical Technologists Week has been celebrated annually since the Association of Surgical Technologists established the recognition in 1984. The week is intended to recognize surgical technologists and raise awareness of the important role they play on surgical teams.
At Innovia, it is also a reminder that a great surgical environment is built one person, one case, and one team effort at a time.
Nathalie and Hsiao, thank you for making a difference every day. Happy National Surgical Technologists Week!
